Just over seven weeks ago we announced the release of Zango 10.0, providing users universal access to more than 100,000 pieces (and growing) of free online content. Prior to the release of 10.0, our consumer base of more than 20 million opt-in users were limited in what content they could access, depending on which of our programs the user had installed. For example, if a Hotbar user wanted to watch a Zango video or play a game, he or she would have needed to also download Zango; similarly, if a Zango user wanted to access Hotbar emoticons, he or she needed to separately download Hotbar. The Zango 10.0 release gives consumers universal access to all Zango owned and licensed content and tools regardless of "brand."
So, did the change make any impact? The answer is a resounding yes. In just seven weeks after going live with the 10.0 rollout, content interaction with Zango’s videos, games tools and utilities has increased by approximately 50 percent.
“One of the primary goals of the merger with Hotbar a year ago was to provide consumers a larger, and ever-growing, library of free, high-quality online content,” said Keith Smith, CEO of Zango in the 10.0 press release. Though today’s results suggest that goal was accomplished, we're not stopping here - we’ll continue to work day-in-and-day-out, further growing our online catalog of free videos, games, music, utilities, tools and more.
